Meandering Mind

OK, like I have mentioned, I�ve been listening to a lot of older music lately. Some is a step to revive what was laying dormant in my music collection; others are ones that have been added to my growing assortment.

Grateful Read, Otis Redding, CCR, Three Dog Night, Aerosmith, Eagles, America, Neil Diamond, The Band, The Guess Who, Blood Sweat and Tears, Doobie Brothers, Yes, Al Green, The Hollies, The Everly Brothers, Neil Young, Cosby Stills Nash, Led Zepplin, Van Morrison, Bob Marley, etc�

Oh and I�ve got some more stuff on the way! Supertramp, Stampeders, and Janis Joplin among others. I am just reveling in nostalgia.

So, 14 sleeps until my vacation and I�m getting excited! (You know I�m getting excited for something when I start counting in sleeps!) Of course it will be a full 12 hours of travel and now I�m starting to worry that so many years away from �real� winter has made me a wuss. What if my coat isn�t warm enough up there? How am I going to fit all my big sweaters in my suitcase and still have room to bring other stuff home with me? Who can I borrow a snowsuit from? What about snowshoes or cross-country skis? These are very important questions!

So what will I do up there in the Great White North you may ask? Well, I have many laid-back and relaxing activities that I might delve into. I�ve already mentioned the snowshoes and skis (both of which can be used to take be off the beaten path with my new camera in tow.) I think I might work on a square if the �crazy quilt� that Grandmama is working on. And I want to convince Granddad to let me work in his big woodshop and make a little footstool. Other than that there will be a few visits, mucho TV watching and card playing. Sounds like a vacation to me! Oh yeah, and last time I was there I taught them to make a yummy bruschetta that they have made non-stop ever since, this time I think I will introduce them to the wonder that is Taco Soup!
